MATHEMATICS FESTIVAL – AGENDA
Day 1 (April 28th): Mathematics Game Olympics & Traditional Games
09:00 - 09:30 | Opening Ceremony: Welcome speeches, introduction to the festival, and brief overview of activities.
09:30 - 12:00 | Math Game Olympics: Students participate in a series of competitive and collaborative math-based games, including puzzles, problem-solving challenges, and interactive digital games.
12:00 - 13:00 | Lunch Break
13:00 - 15:00 | Traditional Games from Participating Countries: Each country showcases and leads a traditional game, integrating elements of logic, strategy, and mathematics.
Day 2 (April 29th): Math Quiz & Fun Physical Games
09:00 - 12:00 | Math Quiz Challenge: A multi-round interactive quiz featuring math riddles, logic puzzles, and problem-solving tasks, using digital tools (Kahoot, Quizizz) and paper-based challenges.
12:00 - 13:00 | Lunch Break
13:00 - 15:00 | Outdoor Math & Movement Games: Group-based physical activities that combine movement with math concepts, such as math relay races, shape hopscotch, and problem-solving scavenger hunts.
Day 3 (April 30th): Playing & Testing Designed Games
09:00 - 12:00 | Testing Games from Previous Activities: Participants play and evaluate math-based games developed in earlier project activities, discussing strengths and areas for improvement.
12:00 - 13:00 | Lunch Break
13:00 - 15:00 | Game Development Refinement & Free Play: Students engage in guided discussions on game mechanics, then refine and enhance their math games before more playtesting.
15:00 - 16:30 | Introduction to Game Design & Game Concept Development: Workshop on game design principles, creativity, and integration of math concepts into gameplay. Students brainstorm, sketch, and plan their game ideas with mentor guidance.
Day 4 (May 1st): Sightseeing in Kazanlak – History and Culture (Labour Day – Public Holiday)
09:00 - 10:00 |: Travel to Kazanlak
10:00 - 12:00 |: Visit to the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
12:00 - 13:00 | Lunch Break
13:00 - 14:00 | Walk through the Rose Valley, famous for its rose oil production.
14:00 - 16:00 | Visit to Damascena Ethnographic Complex https://www.damascena.net/ or Visit to the Rose Museum
16:00 - 17:00 | Free time in the town center for souvenir shopping and café visits. Travel to Stara Zagora
Day 5 (May 2nd): Game Presentations & Closing Ceremony
09:00 - 12:00 | Student Game Presentations: Teams showcase the math games they designed, with demonstrations and peer feedback.
12:00 - 13:00 | Lunch Break 13:00 - 15:00 | Certificate Ceremony & Closing: Participants receive certificates, share final reflections, and celebrate the Festival’s success.
